I have worked in the fields of community arts, consultation and outdoor learning for around 20 years. Being based in the Bradford area for the majority of this time I have had the opportunity to enable people from a wide variety of backgrounds to learn and communicate more about themselves and their opinions, through engagement in creative projects.
Some significant projects include
A commission from Creative partnerships to explore the research question. “Can a more stimulating learning environment help our children become more active learners?” This was a collaborative project between several artists and Raynville primary school in Leeds.
Come Play in the Woods, was a weekly forest school playgroup I set up with Ben Oram for Aspyrian Outdoor Learning. We developed and supported the group to independence over a 3 year period.
A commission from Artworks Bradford to develop, test and evaluate creative consultation techniques that gain high quality feed back from hard to reach communities, for the Care Quality Commission.
Nature Nurture was a commission from Artworks Bradford to engage families whose children were at risk in creative outdoor play. The project based in Holmewood, Bradford ran over 2 years and explored areas of safety, healthy eating, risk management, confidence and dignity.
